Report to Governor & General Assembly due Jan. 1, 2025 (Chapters 708 & 709, Acts of 2024).

Effective June 1, 2024, the Workgroup on Growing Engagement in the Law Enforcement and Corrections Workforce is authorized by the General Assembly (Chapters 708 & 709, Acts of 2024).

The Workgroup is to identify and study the shortage of employees in law enforcement and corrections; determine ways to advertise and promote employment opportunities in these fields; and explore recruitment and retention strategies that have been successful in other states and countries. Recommendations will be made by the Workgroup on incentives or other methods to increase the number of employees in the law enforcement and corrections workforce.
